heute habe ich zum ersten mal schecks bestellt, back to the roots. ich frage mich warum es zwar 200 motive zur auswahl gibt – von ‘coca cola’ bis ‘university of hickville’ – jedoch nichts was sinn macht.

“so, ariane which motif would you like for your checks? we have christian motifs and patriotic ones.”

“hm, I think the christian one is out, and the problem with the patriotic one is, well, I am german. do you any german or other communist motifs?.”

“no, but we have ‘asian essence’.”

“hmm, I am contemplating whether I should go for the ‘fine lines’ or the ‘NASCAR’ one.”

“well, then I would go for the NASCAR, ‘fine lines’ is kinda boring.”

“ok. I guess I go for ‘martin luther king jr.’ then.”

“ok, we go for ‘martin luther king jr.’, anything else I can help you with today?”

“no, that’s it for today.”

zweiter weihnachtstag – entspannt.

erster weihnachtstag – wir ins halb-fertige schlafzimmer umgezogen, hach – toll.

heiligabend – wir haben gemeinsam gekocht: lammkeule mit cranberry sosse, süsskartoffeln und kartoffeln, gebackene, mit ziegenkäse gefüllte zuccini und selbstgebackenes kürbiskernbrot, noch warm. als aperitif ein belgisches himbeerbier, zum essen einen rotwein und zum nachtisch warmen pecan pie mit espresso. ist doch ganz stattlich, oder? besucht haben wir niemanden und niemand hat uns besucht. irgendwie brauchten wir dringend ein wenig ruhe, nähe und entspannung. amores perros haben wir uns angeschaut – ja, ich glaube das war das anstrengendste was wir gemacht haben.
